Privacy Policy

MindMate, Inc. (“MindMate”, “ours”, “us”, “we”) is on a mission to change the way people age. Our goal is to help the users of our MindMate App (for web and iOS) to reduce the risk of cognitive decline through physical exercises, mental exercises, and the right nutrition. MindMate also works closely with research organizations, such as pharmaceutical companies, medical device companies, non-profit companies, and other research institutions (“Partners”) to help them find new/better treatments or improve the quality of life for people with different health conditions that are mainly linked to aging via clinical trials. Interested users of the MindMate App and MindMate Website have the opportunity to sign up for these trials. We are committed to providing our website and app users a safe and secure user experience. This privacy policy is also incorporated into the MindMate App (for iOS and web) and describes the personal information we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it.

Before you use or submit any information through or in connection with MindMate, please carefully review this Privacy Policy. By using any part of MindMate (website, ios app, web app, or other services we provide), you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as further outlined in this Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right to modify this policy at any time, and without prior notice, by posting an amended Privacy Policy and terms on this website. We encourage users of our services to review this policy periodically for any updates.

Information we collect

We collect anonymous computer information to be able to provide the main service of this site, www.mindmate-app.com (“the Site”). We collect personally identifiable information from you when you register for our web/iOS app and/or when you register for one of the clinical trials we support via the Site (when you answer eligibility questions relating to clinical trials). Your personally identifiable information is kept confidential and will never be disclosed unless we are required to do so by law.  We do not share this information except as described in this policy (the “Privacy Policy” or “Privacy Statement”):

What kind of information do we collect?

  • When you register for the MindMate Web Version or the iOS App, you provide us with your profile/contact information, i.e. your name, email address, age, username, password, and other registration information. You may also enter into our system health information, i.e. if you have been diagnosed with a specific health condition, and information on your lifestyle as how much you usually exercise, food habits, etc. We also process personal information for your use of the app: the results you obtain from the app mental exercises, for example.

  • When you register with us to be part of clinical trials, we may ask you to provide us with your name, email address, phone number, zip code, age, gender, and information relating to your medical conditions and history.

MindMate limits the collection and processing of personal and medical information to what is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it is to be used.

All other information collected from you may be used and shared with third parties on an anonymous or aggregated basis only. Your personally identifiable information is stored in our databases. You can access, modify, or permanently delete your records at any time. With your consent, we may contact you from time to time about MindMate’s services and clinical trials that may suit your profile, introduce new products, share educational materials, and for other reasons supporting our mission of changing the way people age and supporting medical research.

MindMate may contact you via equivalently secure registered third-party platforms, email, SMS, or social media.  MindMate does not exchange personally identifiable information through/via social media – nor do we sell or share your personally identifiable information with social media channels.

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH FACEBOOK OR GOOGLE OR ANY OTHER THIRD-PARTY WEBSITE IS GOVERNED SOLELY BY YOUR AGREEMENT WITH SUCH THIRD-PARTY WEBSITE.

By accessing or using this Site as well as our iOS App you agree to this Privacy Policy.  This policy may change from time to time. Your continued use of this Site and our App after we make changes are deemed to be acceptance of those changes, so please check the policy periodically for updates.

You can opt-out of this service at any time and can choose to not use the Site or the App.

Children Under the Age of 13

Our website and app is not intended for children under 13 years of age.  No one under age 13 may provide any personal information to or on the Site or App.  We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.  If you are under 13, do not use or provide any information on this Site or App or on or through any of its features, and do not provide us with any information about yourself.  If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information.  If you believe we might have any information from or about a child under 13, please contact us at info@mindmate-app.com.

Why do we collect your information?

Most of the Site’s services, such as browsing through our content about healthy aging, product information, blog posts, and so on, do not require any form of registration or identification.  You can freely visit many of our web pages without telling us who you are.  However, some of our other services, such as using the MindMate App web version, the MindMate iOS App or inquiring for specific clinical trials, do require that you provide your personal details, including but not limited to your medical history, demographics, and other information. We process your personal information because it is necessary to provide you with the services in the MindMate Web & iOS App, e.g. tailored exercises, nutrition, and mental exercises, and it allows us to process and/or send you information that you request about specific clinical trials or potential trials which you may be suitable for and have an interest in.  We may also use your email address to contact you and introduce new products or to otherwise share additional materials supporting our mission of changing the way people age and supporting medical research.

MindMate does not sell and will not share your personal data without your consent. MindMate only shares your personal data within the capacity of connecting you to clinical trials for which you expressed interest previously and gave us consent. We do not use your personal information for any other reason.

You give us your consent

When you register to use the iOS or web app of MindMate, you consent to collect your personally identifiable information. You also give us consent to collect your personally identifiable information when you register or express interest in joining a clinical trial via MindMate.  You will receive information about what you are registering to receive and how we plan to use your personal information.  We also offer you the option of opting out or “unsubscribing” anytime, if you later decide that you no longer want to be matched to a clinical trial or receive additional information from us.   Please note that if we share your personal information with clinical trial staff, they may continue to have access to your personal information even if you choose to no longer receive additional information from us.

How sharing your information works

MindMate will not share your personal information with third parties except as set forth in this Privacy Policy or we have otherwise obtained your explicit consent to do so. You provide your consent to share the data when you select the appropriate option and click “submit” at the end of the eligibility questions or when leaving your email address. If you are interested in a specific clinical trial, your personal information may be shared with the clinical trial staff of that particular clinical trial and any partners involved in delivering the trial services. These may include clinical trial sites, laboratory screening/testing, and transportation services.

Demographic and medical information you provide to us may be used and/or shared with third parties in anonymous and aggregated form only.

MindMate requires third parties to whom it discloses personal data to protect personal information using substantially similar standards to those required by MindMate. We also require that they do not use your personal information for any separate use that is not specifically for the execution of the clinical trial or as otherwise authorized by MindMate. There may also be instances where MindMate may be required to share your information with third parties who have not been retained by us (directly or indirectly), as ordered or directed by courts of law or other governmental agencies.

MindMate may also share your personal information in the following circumstances: to our affiliates, provided their use and disclosure of your personal information will be subject to this Privacy Policy; to third-party vendors, service providers, contractors, advisors, and agents who perform functions on MindMate’s behalf, and who are bound by contractual obligations to keep personal information confidential and use it only for the purposes for which MindMate discloses it to them; and to a buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution or other sale or transfer of some or all of MindMate’s assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation or similar proceeding, in which personal information held by MindMate about our Site, Apps and customers is among the assets transferred.

How we protect your information

We apply appropriate technical and organizational standards to protect against unauthorized or unlawful processing of personal data. All personal data created by you is transmitted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) standard, plus we use an encryption algorithm and firewalls to keep your data secure. However, no system can be 100% secure, and despite our efforts, there is always a risk of unauthorized access to your personal data. In the event that personal data is compromised as a result of a breach of security, we will promptly notify those persons whose personal data has been compromised. We also urge you to choose a strong password for your user account as well as protect this password.
