Hummus

Prep Time: 30 minutes | Cook Time: 10 minutes | About 190 kcal per serving 

Ingredients:

  • 200g (7 oz) canned Chickpeas  

  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (or more, depending on taste)  

  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed   

  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin 

  • 4 tablespoons water 

  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil 

  • 1 teaspoon paprika powder 

  • 100 ml (3.5 oz) tahini, optional 

  • Salt for taste, optional  


Yield: 2-4 servings

Directions:

  1. Drain chickpeas and rinse well. 

  2. Combine chickpeas with lemon juice, garlic, cumin, water, oil, tahini and salt in a food processor and blend until smooth. 

  3. Add more lemon juice, garlic, cumin or salt for taste. 

  4. Drizzle paste with olive oil and sprinkle paprika powder.    


Tip: use carrot sticks for dipping.
