By age 45, two scenarios are likely: either you have a workout routine, which you enjoy, or you have given up on working out altogether. Either way, it’s time to shake things up, and always remember, it’s never too late to start with a healthier lifestyle. Working out is important for your overall health! And by working out, we don’t mean that you are hitting the gym for 3 hours and do 1 hour of cardio training and two hours of weight training. Even 10 minutes per day can already make a difference for your health! If you are 45 or older, there are certain things you can’t do anymore, we understand. But don’t worry - there are a range of modified workouts you can easily do. A good fitness regime combined with a healthy diet in your mid 40s is very important for your health. Did you know that as we get older, the metabolic rate slows down. This is important, as the metabolic rate is responsible for how fast we burn calories, when at rest. As we age, the muscles also lose their tone, and simple Pilates, Yoga or Stretching exercises can prevent this. Furthermore, a lot of Yoga exercises bringing a blood flow to your face, which makes this an anti-aging facial. 3) Get creative Specifically in your 40s, the workout blues can happen. You really don’t want to workout. Mixing things up can help here enormously, taking that salsa class, going swimming or bicycling can improve your mood, motivation and enthusiasm about working out and get your metabolism going.
