Recently, one of our customers, Sharon, contacted us to receive some support. Sharon takes care of her mum, and along with the daily challenges that they both experience together, she told us about the challenges they face at night since it was not infrequent that her mum would wake up at night thinking it was daytime and therefore, wanting to leave the house. It is not only a challenging experience for Sharon but mainly for her mum, as she would end up disoriented and not knowing what time of the day it was. Following our recent partnership with Unforgettable.org, we suggested Sharon and her mum to visit their website and try some of their assistive technology items, which specifically help patients and caregivers to get along in day-to-day life. She bought one of the Unforgettable.org clocks (an image of it is below) and here is her recent feedback on it:
James Ashwell founded Unforgettable because he believes that products can make a difference. He cared for his Mum with dementia and experienced firsthand how hard it can be to be a caregiver.
Like the MindMate Team, the great people working at Unforgettable are driven by purpose and the wish to help people that are affected by dementia. Sounds like a great fit, right?
We believe it is!
We are proud to share James’ dementia journey with his Mum with all of you. James is the founder of Unforgettable and we are beyond excited to partner up with this fantastic shop, resource and support platform for people with dementia. I must say that I have hardly ever met someone who is as enthusiastic, full of energy and passionate about what he’s doing as James. He also made me wish I’d known Fay and David as they have raised inspirational and truly loving children.
