The NYU Caregiver Intervention (NYUCI), an evidence-based program for spouse caregivers and their family members, has many proven benefits when offered in person. We are now conducting a randomized controlled trial, funded by the National Institute on Aging, to test the benefits of the NYUCI when delivered via video teleconferencing
Eligibility criteria for Counselors
Get trained and certified to provide the NYUCI at no cost to you. After completing your training you agree to provide the NYUCI online, or support by request over the telephone, to at least 5 caregivers and up to 24 caregivers who reside in states in which you are a licensed provider and their families (who may be located anywhere) within a one year period. The only thing you need is access to a computer or tablet with a microphone and video camera.
What is the process?
- You will receive online training to provide the NYUCI via videoconferencing
- Conduct mock counseling session to demonstrate mastery of video teleconferencing
- Register online as a provider of the NYUCI
- You will be reimbursed for your time and effort. Reimbursement will be prorated for caregivers who do not complete the 1 year follow-up.
